From Strength to Strength
DALECRETE, an independent family business supplying ready mix concrete, has been going from strength to strength since it was set up in 1985 with just one truck.
The business rapidly expanded supplying quality ready mix concrete in 0.5m³ - 8m³ loads right across Staffordshire and into Cheshire and Derbyshire.
On 9th February 2006 DALECRETE gained planning permission to extract sand and gravel from its own quarry within the Staffordshire Moorlands. This has enabled DALECRETE to have a guaranteed continuity of supply.
The Man Behind It All – Edward Dale
Edward Dale is very proud of his Staffordshire heritage and was brought up in Leek. He left school at the age of 16 so that he could join the family firm. He took over the business in 1972, which was previously just a haulage firm, but branched out into supplying concrete in 1985 when he realised there was a demand for ready-mixed concrete and “hasn’t looked back since”.
In 1992 DALECRETE moved from the “backyard” of the family home onto the Industrial Estate at Leekbrook, providing extra space for this rapidly expanding company.
No job is too small and we serve everybody, everywhere and we welcome customers to discuss their requirements with our knowledgeable team. Edward Dale says: “We pride ourselves on doing everything in-house including manufacturing, vehicle maintenance, repairs, fetching materials and delivering products.”
The high end technology used at DALECRETE enables us to mix concrete to any individual specification, and the customer gets the precise amount and grade which they order. All DALECRETE ready mix concrete is now mixed in pan mixers to ensure intensive and efficient mixing for consistent product quality.
This is a strong family business with Edward’s wife Jacquie, their son Steven and his wife Emma all being partners and working in the business.
With such a strong desire to provide his customers with the very best quality product and service, it’s no surprise that Edward’s lifelong ambition is proving a great success.
